BlogHer Recap: Growing your blog, kissing Piper and talking Scandal with Kerry Washington

I’ve sat down to write this post a few times, but there’s so much to say I’m honestly not sure where to begin. My journalism self demands: Get to the point!

And that in itself is hard. I recently went to the BlogHer conference and I learned more about my craft, was so inspired by my peers and reveled in the greatness of being without my Hubby and kids. Having time away from my everyday cleared space to think about where I want She’sWrite to … Read more ...

The YouTube video of my #VOTY13 reading at BlogHer

Have you ever heard a recording of yourself talking and then cringed? Wondering, do I really *sound* like that?

Getting onstage with Queen Latifah at BlogHer

Guess who is going to share the stage today with Queen Latifah? Oh yeeeaaahhh baby. Me.

I am so excited, it’s ridiculous. It’s for the BlogHer13 conference where I was chosen as one of the Voices of the Year. My piece was picked as one that will be read at the evening keynote.

To say I’m nervous is an understatement. Actually I was fine about reading in front of the large audience, but when I found out that Queen Latifah was hosting the event … Read more ...

BlogHer announces Voices of The Year for 2013

I’ve got big news. No not pregnant. But it’s equally miraculous.

A couple months ago I submitted some of my blog posts for BlogHer’s Voices of The Year. For my friends who aren’t really into blogging, but thankfully read mine, BlogHer is the largest community of women bloggers. It’s got an audience of 92 million each month.

Anyway, each year a committee selects posts to be recognized as one of the Voices of The Year and a handful the honoreees read their post at the … Read more ...
