A Valentine’s Tale: Do you know what today is?

Today is a special day. It’s the day that I decided to take a chance.

Many years ago, I met a Norwegian boy and he made it clear, he liked me. I had just ended a bad relationship, so was hesitant to get back in the saddle, so to speak. But after some time, the Norwegian asked me to give him a grain of a chance to try to make me happy. And on Feb. 10, 1998 I figured, why not? I mean, somebody has … Read more ...

Facebook Faux Pas: The accidental friend request

If you read this blog regularly, you know my Hubby is white. And if you’re new here, hopefully you’ve gotten the clue from my logo that I’m black.

Our wedding day.

We’re an interracial couple with blended boys and we wouldn’t have it any other way. As an interracial pair, we’ve had our random racist experiences, but we’ve also had many positive, enriching ones.

When I read about the couple in Kentucky who “inspired” a ban on mixed race couples, my heart broke for them. … Read more ...
