It’s been a few weeks since I attended the BlogHer conference in Chicago, but I’m still rockin’ that BlogHer afterglow.

It’s not only that I haven’t yet stopped smiling from meeting Queen Latifah, but it’s also because of a pretty wicked party I attended while there. It was #SweetSuite13 and they really pulled out all the stops. It was billed as “The Biggest Night of Play” and cohosted by Joey Fortman from www.RealMomMedia.com and Charlene DeLoach from www.CharleneChronicles.com. Needless to say, we had a blast.

I felt lucky to even be there because I’m not one of those bloggers who frequently does a lot of giveaways and product reviews. This past year I’ve grown more accustomed to writing those kinds of posts, but I am picky about which ones I do. So I really felt very lucky to be at the par-tay. Thankfully one of my bloggie besties Coffee Lovin’ Mom was there too and I dragged her to each and every booth at the SweetSuite. I was going to make the most of this party. We did and then some.

I learned about new toys that were coming out this fall just in time for Christmas (and to spark new story ideas!), got to eat the biggest chocolate-covered strawberries I’ve ever seen, drink as much wine from The Beachhouse wine as I wanted, and most important, I got to play with toys. I raced HotWheels cars, boxed with Battroborgs, built glowing Lego-like statues, and discovered this space-age like Play-Doh called Skwooshi. It’s so awesome, I want it more for myself than my kids.

Just when the greatness that was SweetSuite13 began to be stored in long-term memory …. (drumroll) the swag bag arrived in the mail. The swag was so much, they had to send it in a box.

Logan and I excitedly opened it and upon seeing all the toys, I immediately wished I had opened it alone. That way I could have saved some of those toys as presents for him on his birthday which is in a week. And the toys were top notch.

We got a flying Batman, new and improved Tinker Toys (I’m probably too nostagicly excited about these, but they totally redid a modern spin on one of my favorite toys from yesteryear) and a fun racetrack from Tagamoto that both Hubby and Logan were stoked to try out.

I did tell Logan that some of these gifts had to be counted toward his birthday because it was really a lot of toys and honestly we need to purge some of our old toys to make room for the newfangled ones. He didn’t care either way, he was just so happy to play with the new toys.

It looks like we’re going to have a lot of fun because of this swag-in-a-box. Heck, even the box and bubblewrap itself are have been good for many days of fun.
