I’ve got big news. No not pregnant. But it’s equally miraculous.

A couple months ago I submitted some of my blog posts for BlogHer’s Voices of The Year. For my friends who aren’t really into blogging, but thankfully read mine, BlogHer is the largest community of women bloggers. It’s got an audience of 92 million each month.

Anyway, each year a committee selects posts to be recognized as one of the Voices of The Year and a handful the honoreees read their post at the celebratory dinner at BlogHer’s annual convention. This year there were more than 2,600 submissions and 100 were chosen as honorees, 12 have the opportunity to read at the ceremony. I am so ecstatic to announce that I am among the 12!!!

Isn’t that crazytown? I agree. I’m stoked though. I’m told hundreds will probably be in the audience, which will be so exciting. I don’t mind speaking in front of big crowds, in fact I think it’s kinda fun. But honestly, I still can’t get over that they chose me as one of the Voices of the Year, let alone being among the 12.

So that’s my news! I am not supposed to disclose which piece I’ll be reading but I can give ya’ll a hint… It’s the one about … me. 😉

You should check out the list of honorees here, as there’s some crazily talented writers whose prose can move you to laughter, tears or both.

      • I actually had hoped to… I coworker of mine was possibly going to be doing a session. As it turns out, her session didn’t pan out AND BlogHer falls on the same week as our big family vacation. DARN! One of these years I hope to go! Congrats again. Best of luck reading. I’m certain you do fabulous 🙂

  2. WOW! What an honor to be able to speak at BlogHer. Congrats! I wish I could afford to go this year, but I’m definitely making it my mission to attend next year.

    • Thanks! I’m still surprised by it all and frankly don’t think I’ve fully processed it. I suppose I’d better start since it’s in the not-too-distant future!
