Getting Ready for Kindergarten… I’m So Not Ready

I’m preparing my entry into the scary world of elementary school. Logan starts kindergarten in the fall, but there’s already been registration, Parents Night and class screenings. Oh. My.

A lot of the activities (rightfully) focus on getting the kids ready. But what about me? I’m not talking about the usual “my baby is growing up” wistful feelings most moms have. I’m talking about all of the crap you have to do before you ship them off. I’m so not ready.

A Meat Eater’s Take on the Controversial “Vegan is Love” Book

Let me just start off by saying it. I eat meat and enjoy it. Beef, bison, chicken, fish, even reindeer*. All of it is yummy.

A Target official has since said the store supports breastfeeding moms and apologized for any inconvenience … Read more ...

An Inspiration to Change: Kathy Pacholski

I met Kathy Pacholski. She is a stroke survivor warrior. She was very healthy when she had a stroke 15 months ago, relearned to do practically everything from folding laundry to walking and then on Nov. 6 climbed 103 flights of the Willis Tower.

Impressive, right? I wrote about Kathy’s journey on The Huffington Post here and we talked a lot on the phone. Our conversations would start with … Read more ...
